Climate patterns are important on Country.
Our grandparents taught us how to read the climate by seeing nature, movements of seasonal winds, wild flowers and plants blooming telling us season for different types of fish, and rain that telling us if river crossings will be high or low. Our ancestors did not use modern technology but they survived out on Country.
My painting is about the season change from wet season to dry season around May and June each year. Usually, around this time the flowers and rainforest start to regrow wildly and the days can become very hot, then at night it becomes very cold.
We protect our wild rainforest Country by following what our elders taught us through knowledge, song and dance. Our ancestors watch over our land. This now is hot day and cold night.
