Travelling far away from my Country, my traditional land

This painting is about my amazing experience of travelling with a group of Lockhart River original Art Gang artists to Melbourne in October 2019.

I see the change from landscape high up in the skies and I am thankful that Australia is a magnificent continent with rich flora and fauna. On my traditional land we have traditional laws we have to follow passed down my our elders past and present on how we should live.

Times change and whilst we have to make adjustments, we cannot forget our traditional laws which help to preserve our rich long history as first nation people.

The artgang artists who travelled with me were bala Silas Hobson, Sissy Rosella Namok and our CEO.
